Total noob question I'm sure guys, but I would like to go online and register an old Cooey that has no serial number and has never been registered...is this going to be a problem? Thanks.

Thank you.
One more question...I have also inherited a Marlin 22 that has never been registered. I was going to try to register it online as well but it has never been verified...is this really necessary?

or do what i did with an old cooey and ask for a custom serial number ..... my old cooey 64's serial number is ING7777 , first 3 letters of my last name and 4 of my favorite number ;)
not sure if this is a standard practice but it's how i got mine done several years back.

"...no serial number..." S/N's weren't required on .22's for eons. Lots of 'em around. Only put on because the U.S. decided they were needed after 1968.
"...never given a sticker..." They quit sending 'em. Believe they're registering 'em without S/N's now.

You can just call 1-800-731-4000 and do it over the phone.I did it in last September with an old Cooey 22. semi auto rifle that was never registered with no S/N. The only thing that they seemed to care about was that the barrel length was legal, 20" in my case or 470 mm or greater as well as the overall length. When I received my certificate the S/N section was left blank.I believe that the amnesty period has been extended again to May 16, 2011 for non-restricted.You will have no problem as long as you have a valid PAL.I told them that I found it in my fathers closet while cleaning his room after he had passed away, which was the truth in this situation.
