Can I see your powder and primer storage?

Safe? Absolutely. Meets the NRCAN regs? Nope. Your place, your choice.

That's right... And really when was the last time any private individual sportsman reloader ever had to stand before a judge on a NRCAN rap.... ?
Really I think some people suck all the joy outta life by trying to comply with every little bulls**t rule...

And BTW.... If anyones cares, I don't wait half an hour after eating to go swimming and I also run with scissors.

I would never bother locking anything up aside from staying out of jail. My kids are trained to leave everything alone unless I am there and have been out to the range a number of times test driving an old Cooey. If they want to look at any of my guns, ammo or reloading stuff all they have to do is ask. Takes all the mystique out of it and makes everything just another object in the house.

Nothing wrong with a lockable tool chest or cabinet, I use one for some of my less used ammo when I have overflow from the main storage. As long as it is lockable, that fufills the major requirement.

Wasn't like that for me at all. I enjoyed building my boxes but I can understand your point.

A $40 lockable filing cabinet from Walmart holds all of my primers & ammo in separate drawers.

I have added a cabinet lock to a wooden drawer in the wall unit that's in my reloading room, and slapped an 'explosives' sign on it. This one holds my powder.

Powders & primers are in the opposite ends of the room.

I also use a full face shield when priming my brass... :D

Reloading Propellant and Primers have to be under lock and key but as far as I know Ammo only has to be separate from firearms - certainly take extra precautions if you have children around - give the Firearms Centre a call (or website) and ask for their brochure on Safe Storage
