Can I shoot in my small backyard with a <500fps airgun?

i do in my area.
big lot behind our hot-tub, great backstop (extremely dense bush-no pun intended)- neighbours don't care- on one side is my grandmother, other side, all the guy cares about is his sleep, so as long as it doesn't disturb him, I'll shoot.

I believe this question of shooting in backyards, in towns etc. comes up often enough to become a sticky. The answer is: check your local by-laws. Most places don't allow discharging pellet guns in town, period, regardless of how fast the projectiles go.

These days y'don't even want your nieghbours to see you loading your gun(s) into your car.

Boy...how sad and true that is. You should see me do that...waiting for there to be no traffic on the street, then quickly walking to my truck with the cased, registered, unloaded, trigger-locked gun. When I unload it at my friends farm, I set-it all up on the tailgate of my truck in his driveway. Have to get out of the Toronto burbs.

I tossed an unlocked, uncased (and unloaded obviously) LE sporter on the front seat of my car and drove to my parents house the other day. Some guy saw me covering it with a blanket when i stopped to get gas. No babies were killed.

I stopped shooting bb guns in the back yard since I wounded a crow ( hell of a shot 50 feet up and 40 yardsaway) and had over 40 ravenouse crow family members swooping down all over the place, and making one hell of a noise over the wounded son of a blitches location.

Would of had a hell of a shoot with a shotgun at that point....

Ive learned the basement is the best place to practice with pellet guns.
Out of sight and out of mind.:D

The RCMP will breach your door.Toss in a flash bang. Zap strap your family and shoot your dog if you play with bb guns in your yard.
You might as well go for the full out assault rifle in the back yard...it will get the same reaction and charge.

Just to make sure I understand the law correctly... The rule is that if there is no bi-law against shooting an air gun that is deemed a "non-gun" (under 500fps) in your locality (ie rural communities) then you are good (legally speaking) to shoot in your basement right?
