Can it rightly be said that the SKS can be fired outside of it's stock?

Wouldn't removing the action and separate trigger assembly from the stock make the SKS very difficult to fire outside of it's stock? Argh the laws here are BULL. I wand a BP SKS!!!

Hook and latch the trigger mechanism back onto the receiver. It'll work like that. The aftermarket SKS bullpup stock meets the criterion for being a prohibited device.

Could. But really difficult...with the triggergroup rather loose you'd have to fumble it into exact position before every shot or the bolt follower disconnect will prevent hammer being released when the trigger is pulled.BP SKS? welcome to Canada...down in US you can buy BP stocks from ATI,but don't attempt to cross the border with it-even if you cut and carve your original stock into a BP-still illegal! Don't ask me why, because the setup still would be longer than 26" (even if you cut the barrel down to 18.5") and other BP rifles if built as such from factory are perfectly legal... (I know...WTF?! )better learn to live with it.

Bullpup has nothing to do with firing outside the stock. Show me something in writing (other than "I heard some RCMP guy said") that says otherwise.

SKS bullpups are 100% legal, as long as it doesn't involve the stock. You can modify the magazine to bullpup an SKS:

Do you like to play russian roulete?
If so then the resualt of firing an SkS with out an stock would be the same & please do not do this.f:P:

Pretty sure that there is legislation that says that a bullpup stock is a prohibited device, unless it is an integral part of the gun, and the gun can't be fired without the stock in plac.

I am on my cell at work right now so can't look up the law, but it is there.

The RCMP just used it to reclassify the Walther G22.

Clearly I'm not looking to try to do this. What I DO WANT, is a bullpup SKS....

What I was trying to argue is that the RCMP's definition of being able to fire outside the stock, making a bullpup config prohib, might be able to be bypassed.

  1. RCMP
  2. Political Parties
  3. Firearms Laws
