Can my 8.5" Grizzly shoot 3" shells?

I've been curious about this one for a while. Obviously I checked the barrel, but it is very unclear about shooting 3" shells. It has a stamp on it that looks to be a 3, followed by two other dots that might be the inches symbol. Can anyone verify this for me?

Yup, you're good to go for 3 inch shells.

You've already got your answer, but as a note for anyone else with one of these: My HP9 (same gun, really) had the 3" marking mostly filled in by whatever the finish is.

That is odd. Even if it was a harder strike, it doesn't look like the same tool used for the 2.75(").

Actually.....it looks like it could be the same tool, just hit too hard, then they tried a 2nd time and hit it too hard again.

not if you you have a damascus barrel. Blackpowder only.

My 8.5 works flawlessly with 3" but 2 3/4 seem to hang up a bit on feeding, anyone got a remedy?

And if you replace the follower with the Gen 3 S&J Green follower it will hold 3 rounds of the 2 & 3/4" shells
