OK question is, Why is the Tavor not a problem but the Type 97 a big problem??? Both carried by Canam.

I think the reason the RCMP flipped out over the Type 97 is the price. Apparently, they don't want the peasants to be too well armed.

Because polititions and government employees are morons and don't know their heads from their asses.........That just summed it all up in one sentence

Better hurry up and release these things, If you check out googles home page the Aliens are coming;).
Sorry for the post I need to get my mind off this rifle somehow.......

Sooooooooooooooooooo what about the 'SA80' and the Steyr Aug 'family' and the ever insidious 10/22 'bullpup'

The steyr AUG is prohibited by name unfortunately, and I think the SA80 is as well (cant confirm that though)

Any stock system that takes a conventional rifle (with the main action in front of the grip) and converts it so that the action is behind the grip/trigger is a prohibited item.

A rifle designed as a bullpup itself, is not necessarily prohibited, but a stock that changes a gun into a bullpup is a prohibited item.

The SA80/L85 is not prohibited by name but we're not missing much by the absence of a semi-only version.
