Can someone please identify this? I came across several of them when cleaning up the garage. It seems to be some sort of military tool roll.

Spread open it is 12" x 10 ". Closed up it is 5.5" x 7".

Bren gun tool pouch? Just a guess.

Just used Google image search and it looks like it is a US M12 Machine Gun Tool Kit Roll.

Canadian C5 gpmg , we may have used them with the .50 brownings also.

Thank you all for the information. What sort of tools were originally in these rolls? Does anyone have a complete set? Photo?

I have no idea what they were doing in my garage. They were found in a pile of old motorcycle gear. I may have used one once to hold some tools under the seat of my old Triumph. The actual memory is long gone. And I've no idea where they originally came from. I'm guessing Princess Auto. Or maybe in a box of whatever else from some auction.

If I remember correctly (40years) we had a ruptured case extractor, and extra , extractor, sear , sear pin, and other small bolt parts.
Firing pin.

I'm pretty sure a headspace and timing gauge was in as well.
