My Norc M4gry is on the bottom of the pic, fitted with an
LMT 10.5" upper instead of the usual 14.5" NORC M4gery top end. As seen in the pic, it is 27" long with the stock collapsed, very light and compact, and with the red dot sight it is ideal for close drills.

This NORC/LMT hybrid is now used mostly with a
.22 LR CMMG conversion kit, for cheap practice. I upgraded the NORC lower with a better quality lower parts kit, and now it now has a much better trigger pull. I kept the original Norc sliding stock, Norc AMBI safety and mag release.
So far, it has been totally reliable ....
today I test fired 200 rds .22 LR ammo through my CMMG conversion kit and 40 rds of .223 through my LMT 10.5” upper, with ZERO malfunctions.
Interestingly,
the full powered hammer spring and full weight hammer are more reliable banging off the rimfires with the CMMG .22 LR kit, than is my RRA
lightened match hammer - which gives the occasional failure to go bang, and may require an extra hit or two to set off the rimfire.
I think this set up is a neat, inexpensive, cost effective rig for CQB practice.
The only down side of using .22 LR for double taps, is that the recoil is so slight that the sight picture doesn't move much, so you have to mix in a few mags of the "real/manly" .223 rounds during practice sessions, or else you get into a bad habit of not expecting any recoil at all.
as usual,
