Can someone recommend a good gun club/range around GTA, please?

Hi everyone,
interested in buying a share for the sharon gun club, as well,
willing to pay a premium and can pay immediately in cash

You are going about this wrong. If you are looking for a share you should post an ad in the "Exchange of All Other Stuff" EE section. Shares are difficult to come by, but it is well worth it if you're successful. It's a great club.

Be aware that Barrie gun club does NOT allow you to shoot alone.

That must be a new thing since yesterday. Everyone who is a member is trained how to operate all the equipment and range opening and closing procedures simply so they can shoot alone. 24/7 indoor range. 7 day a week club.

id rather not hijack someone's thread to discuss my issues at burlington but the "saftey nazi" was flat out being racist, it was more than my friend missing a shot. I was a loyal member for over 5 yrs & love the range but after my one incident with him id rather let a newbie know what to expect with him there. You can defend the range as much as you want but the experience he provided at brrc I will never come back & advise anyone I can to never step in that place while he is there. I would have loved to lodge a complaint if i thought it would have gotten me anywhere, trust me I'm not happy i have to find another range.
Racist? Safety Nazi? Because your dumbass guest hit the ground TWICE. Because your membership was suspended after you were warned about it and you let it happened AGAIN?

Thanks for letting new shooters know what to expect at Range Burlington which is that if a member brings guests who are so completely incompetent that they shoot the ground that they'll get one warning and then asked to leave if it happens again. Sounds like a club that puts safety first.

I'm a member of the BGC since 2009 and that rule was already in place when I joined....not that I like it....

Not sure what to say about that. I don't recall it being in the course, I might just have to have a relookiesee at my manual. However, that is something that doesn't bug me. I don't think I could enjoy shooting on my own. And if a gun blows up in my face, it would be good if someone was there to apply some pressure to my face since I would only have a nub for a hand. Laugh2

Equipment Exchange - confused

So I've been keeping a eye on the Shotgun Exchange as I'd love to pick up used 12 semi, this 391 comes up that's in my price range so I PM the owner and ask if there are pictures available. The reply is " don't sell to "0" s." I only assume because I haven't traded here before. I totally understand that it certainly the sellers prerogative to sell to whom he wishes, but I don't understand what the risks are in dealing with a new member. I know that with the volume of guns that are moved through this site that Ill get another shot at one but I just want to be more careful next time. Any pointers? Thanks in advance!!

It would help if you didn't post your question in the completely wrong area hijacking a thread. I am sure there is somewhere in the EE that you can ask this question. Also, why not do a WTB and list the type/price range of shotgun you are looking for, they will come to you.

Range Burlington may be an option for you. 50m indoor heated range, 24/7 access, lots of leagues. No clays though, slug only for shotgun. Click the link in my sig for more information.

could you tell us what times are free times if we are not into any of the league please?

The times are on the home page, www.rangeburlington.ca. The range closures are on the calendar, just hit the link on the home page.

I saw that already, but I am trying to get clarification from you.

Correct me if I am wrong, other than the times used by the leagues and Mondays & Thursdays from 8am-11am, the rest are "free" times??

Or do do you have something else going? I've heard that you guys are always booked and left no time for "free" times users, and they are forced to join the league for more times.

Other than the league times and two cleaning periods, the range is open and free. Approximately 128 hours out of every 168 is free time. Occasionally, the range is shut down for extended events like matches, training or maintenance.

Nobody is forced to join a league. You can join the leagues (its free) or shoot when they aren't using the range. But lets be clear, we're not a 24/7 casual drop in shooting/plinking range. And neither is any other Club in the area.
