Can owners of Swiss Arms rifles bring them into the United States for the purpose of hunting, a course, or competition shooting?

Let's say you have a form 6NIA or other authorization in place, and you're bringing in a firearm with a >16" barrel (i.e. not the CQB)

I just ask because my understanding is the Swiss Arms family of rifles is not imported into the US for US consumers.

Would a Canadian be allowed to bring one in, so long as it was leaving the country again?

You can bring it there for hunting, a course, or competition shooting providing the paperwork. But you cannot sell it to an American

Q: I am a nonimmigrant alien. Are there any restrictions on the types of guns I can temporarily bring into the United States for hunting or for a shooting competition?
Yes. Unregistered National Firearms Act weapons (which include machine guns, short-barreled rifles and shotguns, and silencers); U.S. Government origin firearms or firearms that contain U.S. Government origin manufactured parts or components; and firearms from certain proscribed countries may not be temporarily imported. If you think the firearm(s) you wish to import may be affected by these restrictions, please contact the Firearms and Explosives Imports Branch.

[26 U.S.C. 5844, 27 CFR 447.52 and 447.57]

Dunno if the Swiss are a proscribed country or not.

The answer is probably no. It's been tried before and denied. Apply for a Form 6 and try, you might get a miracle.

I think for the purpose of imports it might count as a "non-sporting firearm". I thought that was why they had to make the Sig 556 in the US. Because they couldn't import other Sig rifles.

Although they're considered non-sporting, they can be sold if they're made in the US, rather than imported.

I was just curious to see if anyone's taken one down, but it doesn't sound like it. I can't bring my Norinco, albeit for a different import ban, but haven't had an issue with anything else.
