I was able to use a punch and drift the front sight , but for the life of me, I cannot drift the rear sight either way with the proper punch and a decent hammer. (no matter how hard I hit it), therefore, ............is there a set screw for these that I don't know about. Cause if there is, I sure could have used that info before I marked the rear sight up pretty good.
I just need to know if its a matter of elbow grease, or loosening some set screw. Thanks for your time.

As I have noted in the gunsmithing forum, I encountered one recent Norinco with the rear sight silver soldered in place. In doing a 'bowmar" cut I was forced to mill the fixed sight off.

I assume you are clamping it in a padded vice. If the padding is too soft it absorbs the shock. Sink the frame into the jaw so that the punch comes across level with the sight.

I use a cloth, single thickness to protect the slide and a fairly heavy hammer. On the first adjustment I knock the sight right off and clean it up with a file, and then use some oil when i re-install.
