What say?

Most people can host there own pics on photobucket or whatever...

I figure we could simply allow whomever to contribute 'articles' on whatever old school type firearms they wish with accompanying pictures

Any errors or ommisions would be dealt with 'behind the scenes'...dont want a disscussion forum, but instead strictly info.

Therefore...when I post a story about my 'original' SVT sniper Claven would PM me and I could 'edit' my post to reflect that new found info

It wouldnt be as fancy as Badgerdogs show but it should work and allow people detailed info and pics of guns from yesterday

What say?

Geez! Next time, I'll keep my mouth shut! This is getting to be like the Lambchps Playalong song that never ends... :runaway:  :D

Klunk,

I think the issue here is that many ppl who were providing info and pics were concerned about the exposure to CGN and all that goes along with it.

Here's a scenario for you:

A contributor works for some agency or business with a certain political ethos. The emplyer finds out about CGN negatively through the LIEberal media and then learns their employee is affiliated with CGN, not just as a user, but contributing site content. They are then automatically associated with many of the more extreme views expressed in sme of the non-milsurp forums.

Having talked offline with some of the folks concerned, we're starting to think the time may have come to recompile the MKB info on a separate non-forum website that CGN-ers could then link to for reference material. Contributors of photos could do so annonymously to the site admin and possibly black out partial s/n's, etc.

It is alot more work, yes, but there's also the issue that the MKB may have outgrown the format it lived in here. A dedicated site would be more user friendly, for certain and would not be competing with CGN for users.

Just read Badgerdogs comments so I am removing my post, Requiescat in Pace MKB.

But...

Its no different than posting 'look what I got' here...

I realize we should be striving to blunt the 'antis' right now...but that doesnt mean we cant BS old army junk

Maybe we should change the name to Canadian Gun Activists...?and totally stop discussing firearms at all...

I know how you feel Klunk, but trust me when I say ALOT of the more "premiere" and "serious" collectors here are in a precarious position due to their employment situations. PM me offline if you need more details as to what I'm talking about.

I'm new here, is this site one that I should have second thoughts about becoming involved with ?

Milsurp may not be the place to discuss this topic. Canadiangunnutz is the best firearms forum in Canada. You can still be a member here and not be involved with politics. As for being a member here bringing you into the sights of the powers that be, who knows. As long as you follow the forum rules there should be no problems.

Geezus NO..:D

There is just a stink that was started when a East Indian decided to shoot as many people as he could in Montreal.

Some people here wish to distance themselves from the online 'gun folks' because of that....they have their reasons

Stick around...its good here with lotsa HIGHLY knowlegable people

I am not going to question the wisdom of folks desicions reguarding the mkb, but it does worry me that an employer of any type can have a say in what a valued employee legaly does in his off hours.
