450 Short 1984-06-14 2000-06-07 United kingdom FR EN DE FR EN DE 8 720 828 936

455 MK II 1984-06-14 0000-00-00 United kingdom FR EN DE FR EN DE 7.5 900 1035 1170

PT max= maximum average pressure (bar) = 450 short; 720; For 455 Mk II = 900

PE= 1,30 Pmax = mean proof pressure (bar) = 450 short; 936; For 455 Mk II = 1170

I've tried Fiocchi .455 ammo in my pristine Tranter .450 Army and considered it to be too warm for a gun of that era. This is a gun whose cylinder I've had magnafluxed just to be sure it was safe to fire. It passed with flying colours.

The Fiocchi 455 MKII's are not very hot loads. It says 850 FPS on the box but in my experience they usually measure ~700 FPS muzzle velocity on the chrono.

455 mk II rounds should chamber into the .450 adams, but the tolerances might be a little tight. I would personally use slightly lighter smokeless loads to be on the safe side seeing as they are blackpowder guns.

While the Fiocchi .455 ammunition may not be the hottest loadings, they can certainly turn many of the "Belgian bulldogs" into shattered-internal territory.

Just a hard-earned lesson, FWIW.
