Can you buy a SA MP5?

I know that beggars can't be choosers, but how good of a gun is the Famae SAF all things considered? How does it stack up to the handful of other semi-auto "SMGs" that are legal in Canada?

I find mine to be a very accurate firearm, surprisingly so. Very soft recoil as you would surmise. Typical of the Swiss design it is robust and user friendly. The bad points are that it is next to impossible to get parts for it if anything breaks and the stock mags are horid. The mag thing is fixed by modifying an uzi mag though I'm told. I'll let you know when i get a chance to modify mine.

I see no usefull purpose in owning one, but I have wanted an MP5 ever since Goldeneye came out for the N64. lol I am pretty sure its not an MP5 in the game though.

Or is there anything close to the MP5?

I will set something aside for you....pending a Lib victory at the polls...

....Unless, of course, Alberta just plain splits with the rest of this messed up country....in which case Im keeping EVERYTHING...HAHAHhhahaha:D

FWIW the MP is a much cooler gun in theory than in practice. They are heavy for an 9mm SMG and have a surprising amount of recoil. Something in the roller locking system seems to enhance the felt recoil.

They are, however quite tough and very accurate along with being ###y as hell.

Personally I prefer the 2nd Gen pure blowback designs.
