Can you drive stick?

I do have a new project in mind. Going to acquire one of those single shot 22 rimfire convertion kits for LE #1 Mk III.
Then purchase a suitable launch platform.
There's lots of elevation ramp to experiment.
Now if I can only bring myself to ignore those pretty little Pre WW2 training Mausers!

First half of my live, I shot open or peep sights, Last couple years I shoot a red dot on a 1911, but for bulls eye, It does not really help, dot to big.
Stick, as a old farmer lots, 3 sp to 13 speed, actually My Deutz had 32 in 3 ranges, all sycro, even 3 reverse.

I find myself a 3 MOA red dot is just about perfect on small game combination gun. But all these shots taken most often less than 35-40 yards.
I myself grew up with irons. And I find it hard bring myself to convert Wichita target rifle of its Central rear sight to high end optic.

Well it sure is sad times, many reasons to be bummed out, worst of course being The Quiff's attempts at Public Safety. Since I was pretty much wed to the AR platform I decided to buy an MRA Renegade Receiver set. I've tried a few different Barrels I had, finally settling on the 16" Ballistic Advantage I'd purchased for my "Service Rifle" upper. With a scope it shoots a 55gr V-Max/W748 load for another Rifle Sub MOA, but since this is about Irons...

10 shots 100m, and yes I was cheat'n, shot off a rest/bag, 2.928"

This is it in its final form, well almost, changed the Krinkov to an A2 Flash Hider, and the front Sling mount. Since all this stupidity has happened I'm having a hard time figuring out what rifle combo will serve me best. I'm seriously thinking of selling this, and getting a 223 Savage/Ruger Scout Rifle, a basic chassis, and a spare Barrel/Bolt for 6.5 Grendel. I'd welcome some comments regarding selling/keeping the Straight Pull.

Upon more research it looks like as far back as 1930s dedicated rimfire target shooters discovered the Martini rimfire target rifles could easily outclass the temporarily converted .303 Lee Enfield rifles.

I had a rather cool gift I received a few months back out for the first time this weekend. It's an old Mossberg Training Rifle, an M-42b if I'm not mistaken.

I spent some time with it yesterday, trying to zero it, and making sure everything works as it should. I didn't actually zero it as the rear sight wouldn't lock in place. Looked it over that eve, there's a bit of minor damage to the "stop" that helps align the rear sight, and lock it in place. The front has five different sights that can fold down. They have two surfaces that interact with a spring, one to keep it folded, the other to keep it up for use. I'm using the aperture front, which has a slight lean, not sure why yet. Regardless it doesn't move, but it only zeros with the sight full left. The rear functions well enough, although you have to keep checking to see if it's gotten loose. I've never fired a Rifle with these style of Iron Sights...I REALLY like them. I think it might be time to consider a Swede CG-63.

Happily. Still have glass for the regular days, but a nice set of irons feels good.

Is that one we can still shoot...keeping track was bad for my blood pressure.

A good rear like an LMT and a cheap TNA fixed front work great, I never did get to try my Armalite NM set out, still hopeful though.
