Can you get HI Cap Mags for a Marlin 795SS?

There is very few aftermarket anything for Marlins. Don't bother contacting Midway either. They don't ship to Canada.

No, please dont buy a Ruger. I would rather be able to hit something than have hicaps, and wth a 10/22, that is exactly what you can't do.

That is not exactly true. Once you spend another $400-$500 on aftermarket trigger, new barrel, new extractor and maybe a new stock the 10/22 is a decent rifle. :nest:

I wouldn't exactly say decent, but atleast it might weigh more, makes a better club that way when you go to beat up the gophers you missed.

for a bone stock semi auto rifle that is only $249 new I think they are pretty decent. A new barrel at $140 ,trigger at $40 and extractor at $15 will make a pretty damm fine shooting gun and all for a cost of $445 if you sand out the factory stock, oh almost forgot that you can sell the factory barrel for $40 -$50 and the stock for $30-$40. So it looks like you could build a hogue stocked, heavy barreled tack driving 10/22 for about $455 with selling the stock and barrel and have the satisfaction that you did it yourself and the options of the high caps as well
just my 2 bits

I am definately not comparing bolt guns and semis, but to me, hi caps don't make a difference. I can switch a mag.

Get a Remington 597, they come with a 30 round magazine and even they are better out of the box than a Ruger.

Really my VTR dident come with a 30 round ,only a 10 . I wouldent say a base model 597 is a tac driver but mabey a little/tiny/teeny bit more accurate than a base model 10/22 . Then again I did have a 597 LSHB as well and the price tag was up around $400 when I bought it and it was very accurate , a little less then a 10/22 build .

gota compare oranges to oranges :)

picture of it befor I sold it (great gun as well )

Oh I meant that you can buy 30 rounders for it. I guess I should of been clearer.

Yeah now that I think about it most .22 semis are low capacity.

Also considering the Remignton is $189.00 new that is a better deal than a Ruger.

I heard that some companies(promag, mecgar?) were supposed to make some hi caps for the 795 in late 2010-early 2011. Also, on the paladin press book "Marlin .22 exotic weapon system" it says that there is a lug built into the magwell b/c of clintons stupidity(and commiefornia too I guess) so that the 30 rounders for the marlin model 70 couldn't be inserted. If you dremeled that out, you could probably use marlin model 70 hi caps.

I'm not a 10/22 guy, my friend has a 10/22 with a scope and all prettied up stocks and etc. and my 795 open sights can out shoot his easy. Granted he has a 30 round mag, I still love my 795, but I do have to admit having SOME accessories would be nice. I would really be interested in hi cap mags.

Well... there are some nice toes in that picture. :p JK, nice rifle. So that 597 LSHB was $400 off the shelf? What kind of grouping does it get?
