Can you help identify this underwater relic?

Hey guys, a friend of mine found this scuba diving in Thailand off the coast of Pattaya. It definitely seems to be some sort of rocket, but i was wondering if you guys could tell me what kind of rocket it is, and what fired it? Sorry about the crappy cell phone pics, its the only camera i had at the time.

Looks like a mortar round to me.

As a friendly side note... You see fins sticking out of the ground... Don't touch... I have had a few close calls from UXOs (unexploded ordinance) doing range clearance.

US 81mm HE by my thoughts. If you can measure across the fins at the forward corner of the fins(widest part), width would be 75ish to 80ish in MM depending on how much Aluminium has been eaten away by the salt water.

Was thinking expired Illuminating round, judging by the fuse and lack of deformation.

I was thinking illum too. Who knows what salt water does to them and how long it was down there.
