Can You Help Me Decide? PU Sniper, or 91/30 + SVT-40

Why would he have to sell his future SVT-40 after only one years worth of shooting????

This!

The 7.62x54R mm surplus ammo prices go through the roof. A few months ago I paid about $.35-39 per round , nowadays you'll not find anything cheaper than about $.50 per round. If you stick to the Mosin&SVT very soon you'll have not enough money for buying ammo. Sell your 7.62x54R rifles.
My $.02

SVT40 is a great rifle I have 4 of all the big 3 Russians 1 mosin being a PU. 54r surplus with some love is even reloadable if your patient but once modified should be good for 3-5 more uses. Work some extra shifts or hustle for some more deals and keep everything and buy what you want.

That MO 91/30 for 200$ on the EE is a smokin bargain. Ive got one and its better than my sniper in some ways. They also seem to have better triggers, better bores and more accurate than a standard 91/30. Maybe its just coincidental but I think most guys would agree.

Hmmmmmm interesting. I may still have some thinking to do.

In order for a sniper rifle to remain a sniper rifle it had to pass a precision test and if it didn't pass it was decommissioned into an infantry rifle. The infantry rifles didn't need to be nearly as precise to remain in service. So, on average the snipers will have better triggers and be more precise than their infantry counterparts. I would agree that the MO marked rifles were refurbished to a typically higher standard. Similar to some of the "red letter" guns.

Good to know. Any idea if this is the last of them? I dont know about the distributor but the retailers are just selling the last of them here. Guessing theres about 12 left in Mb.

I don't recall....but what was the price before? We are seeing them 7-800 here.

It's up to the retailer but the price typically increases as supply decreases. I paid $650 for mine from P&S Militaria.
