Can you put a scope on a Daisy Red Ryder BB gun?

The gun metal is too thin and weak to drill and tap. The inside action spring etc. will get hung up on the protruding mounting screws also. but if you wish to try weldbonding mounts on and hoping they hold a scope, go ahead. but why are you needing a scope for on a very short distance pellet gun?

I can, you can, we all can if you can dream it it can be done, you to can be clasified as a nut, sorry gun nut!!!

If you really want to, don't let anything stop you from doing it. The guy in that video might have had better luck selling his old red ryder since it might have been collectible and modding a new one but what the hell, maybe it was a beater.

Get a length of rail from your favourite supplier, rough up the bottom of the rail and the top of the receiver with 60 grit sandpaper or a metal file and try some epoxy or JB weld. Make sure it's nice and straight as you can get it. I'm sure you could get something working.

I think if you rough up the surface you could try JB weld or liquid metal, clamp the mount to the gun for a couple hours while it sets. If it doesn't work, it was a cheap try.
peace..

Scoped red Ryder

let us know how it turns out. I've got 2 grandkids (and 2 more on the way) that'll be getting Red Ryders at some point. BTW, I saw them at Princess Auto on the weekend for 29,99.

Nutinfancy on youtube had an aluminum one made and put a reflex sight on his lol. Looked silly but with the consistency of some cheap air guns it could be fun.
