Sis came by and gifted me a Mauser. I don't know much about them:) Hoping someone could help out. Sentimental piece, and I'd like to know some more details.

K 98 made by Steyr in Austria, produced between 1940 and 1945,
apparently they used slave labor at the Mauthausen Concentration Camp.
 
Your rifle was a Mauser K98K manufactured in 1944 by the Third Reich. Specifically, the receiver was made at Radom for Steyr. But, beyond that, the rifle is in what we call "Russian Capture" configuration. Meaning that it's a mixmaster of different parts that the Russians slammed together after the fact. These rifles typically operate just fine, but they aren't nearly as collectible as an untouched matching example.

thats the nicest RC ive ever seen. but the gouges in the stock are just gravy because i love a rifle that shows its use.
