Can you use more than one optic in SR

I am preparing for my first SR season, but I have never actually seen the event in person. So Noob doesn't even begin to describe me. That said, I think I will love it, and and working through the course of fire, and trying to figure out.
My Question is can you use more than one optic? A primary optic and the an either offset optic or stacked optic. The rules say you can use any optic. But optic is singular. Is that meant to limit you to just one optic, or are two allowed. Does it make sense to consider two? Please advise?

Keep in mind I think SR optics cap out at 4X and move into DMR/open class territory as no military has a general issue optic greater than 4X.

In my opinion you would be better served by a decent variable with target turrets. A 1-4 Vortex PST is similar money to an EOtrash and magnifier but brings much more to the table. It is also simply a better scope. Then again I would trust a $230 1-4 Bushnell AR over an EO.

In SR and CQB it is all KD shooting and you have time to dial for which line you are on or will be shooting from. But who wants to be the guy playing Mr. Potatohead while running between mounds or asking for a time out so they can get their rifle back together.

I don't know what this guy is saying, but the answer to the OP is yes. If you have doubts you may wish to contact the match coordinator to confirm.

From the advice I've been given, one decent optic is all that's necessary. You won't use BUIS for SR. For CQB you could do just fine with irons.

What are the targets and distance for SR ?

Because we routinly use BUIS from 0-400m on Fig11 with our C7/C8 and everyone passes without the help of the butt fairy. I actually find it easier than shooting with our junk of a scope C79.

Service Rifle typically runs from 25-500m and CQB typically falls inside of 50m (depending of course on where and what Course Of Fire is being shot).

But tell me more about how awesome your plastic BUIS are, I had no idea.

I'm gonna skip the whole C79 debate since I don't shoot one.

GL's advice on the variable is good. Most open class shooters use one (all civis are in Open currently if following DCRA guidelines). Fix power works well too. Most shooters are using a BDC reticle or even better, adjustable turrets that can be fine tuned for wind and elevation.

No rule that I know of in any place that shoots Service Conditions that won't allow magnifiers, offset RDS or Irons.

Your info says you are in Winnipeg. What org are you shooting with? Would probably be best to contact them and check before you send coin on a sight system that may or may not be allowed.
