Last nite I ordered the Canada Ammo deal of 1000 rounds for $199.99.

https://www.canadaammo.com/product/detail/1000-round-crate-of-norinco-7-62x54r-150gr-fmj-bt/

You get free shipping if you order $200 or more... so I added the "Swedish Style Outdoor Knife" for $5 to my order. LOL

It is corrosive, 150gr, Copper washed, bi-metal jacket, steel core and 2011 production date.

Should get it this week.

Anyone use this before?

So far I've fired old Chicom and Bulgarian 7.62x54r in my Mosin Nagants and my SVTs with no issues. Looking forward to trying the Norinco.

I bought some a few weeks ago at full price. $249 / 1000. It didn't run as good in my SVT40 as the Bulgarian stuff I have from Westrifle but a gas adjustment could have fixed that. I didn't want to mess with it because the Bulgarian stuff ran so good. I'm sure the Mosin would be fine given the price of it.

Ordered 2 crates. Never tried it before. I only have some old Chinese stuff and a whole lot of Bulgarian.

I skipped the knife. I hardly ever use the three I have. Just not a knife guy. I did order some Ballistol though!

Yeah I did the same thing to hit $200 once, not amazing or anything but for $5 its very good. I used it all last summer camping and didnt care about damaging it.
I'm actually quite curious about it and looking forward to getting it.

So... you own one then ??

If my math is correct,,,

CanadaAmmo Pre tax is .25/round ($249/1000)
TradeEx is .272/round ($239/880)

For me here in BC it goes like this:

TradeEx is (239.99 * 1.05) / 880 = 0.286 a round after tax, GST only.
Canada Ammo is (249 * 1.12) / 1000 = 0.278, PST + GST.

Basically the exact same price. Canada Ammo is a fraction of a cent cheaper. Both good companies.

You may still want to go with Canada Ammo because you get a newer production batch, and 120 extra rounds for $10. That's only 8 cents a round for the extra 120.

Not true. The 2011 stuff is pretty nice and feels a little hotter but it is nowhere near as accurate. It's machine gun ammo.

The 1960s PRC stuff has been absolutely reliable, I've fired no less than 4,000 rounds of it, not one dud, not one issue. I can group 2" with it regularly at 100m which is pretty good for surplus. The only down side is that it's not reliable in my SVT-40s.

I usually get mine at WSS for $225 for 880, but not sure how long that price will last. Always ends up being closer to $250 anyways after PST & GST :(
So, $200 for 1000 rounds w/ free shipping was a no brainer.

Ordered a case of FMJ and HP in 7.62x39 yesterday. Lead core and not corrosive. Free shipping too. Will be looking into this caliber (x54) and what fires it very soon.
