Gotta love it when criminals in this country will rob you at gun point in a shopping mall parking lot a few day before Christmas, but god forbid the common man tries to even the odds.

More on the topic though, has any one actually tried using these? I'm not very familiar with G10 other than on knife handles. How would they stand up if you decided to actually punch [an inanimate object]?

Off topic but this comment reminded me of Mr. Moses Mahilal, who faced 14 years in jail for stabbing a home intruder with a kitchen knife. The intruder, a 6 foot 4, 200 pounds known thief was sentenced to 20 month.

That one is plastic, G10 is different animal. I remember watched a video about G10 and carbon fiber durability test searching for knife handles. According to the testers, a piece of 1cm G10 board can withhold 2000 lbs of weight per inch². while redneck math can't be trusted, point is, G10 is a pretty high end material, I wouldn't mind putting it between my iron fist and ozombie's skull, LOL

Why anybody would want/need/feel like they need these is beyond me. Makes no sense. Say you get attacked at random by somebody with an object of their own and you defend yourself. Luckily there are witnesses. You prove self defence. Might unfortunately cost a few grand in legal fees but you get off good.

Now throw these into the mix. If you have em and you're attacked, you're gonna use them. Don't try to tell me otherwise. Same witnesses now see you pulling out a legal object that is legal to own legal to buy legal to carry and now use it as a weapon. Our backwards laws just quadrupled your legal fees. And you most likely lost your guns in the process. This is no different than taking a baseball bat to someone's head in the eyes of the law. Then even if you don't lose your guns you're pretty much guaranteed a visit, and your non-restricted guns are now in the database. And hopefully you stashed those Beowulf mags and whatever other questionable sht that we all know full well are all too prevalent in our culture.

There are definitely better options for self defense than these, for sure. It's all a matter of knowing the law and working it to your advantage. Having some good insurance that covers legal self defense would be good too, if it's available.

I don't post much on this site but I read everyday and these G10 are always a topic... coming from a law enforcement background I can ensure you:

1. The production of these are not illegal
2. The sale of these are not illegal
3. Carrying these around and hitting someone is 100% ILLEGAL!. Anything you carry on your person for the sole purpose of hurting someone is a weapon and thus results in an "Assault with weapon" charge. If you carry a bat, pipe, electric baton, etc. for the purpose of assaulting someone with it then that item instantly becomes a weapon. It is a very easy thing to remember... that is why you should not do it.

Be safe but not dumb about your actions.
