canada ammp 7.62X39 HP feed in sks?

The only concern ive had with this ammo is that they have **soft** non corrosive primers... on my particular SKS (not sure if anybody else is experiencing this) every time the bolt flys forward, without firing it; the free floating firing pin leaves alittle mark in the back of the primer. Showing some potential for a possible slam fire ! BUT so far ive shot 100's of rounds of the HP and had no issues :D ive shot many Porcupines, and a few coyotes with this ammo, groups around 1.7-2.7" @100 ALL the time.... it being non corrosive is the best part, take it coyote hunting, get back late and have to work the next day, clean it next weekend no problems :) AND FOR 25 cents a shot to boot!!

Most semis will leave a bit of a primer smack on closing the bolt. My JRC does it so does my SKS. I have seen it in a mini 14 as well. I wouldn't be to worried about it.

I don't know about your ammo but the Dominion HP that I have is the exact opposite. My Mini 30 would have FTF with it (~1 per 5 rounds wouldn't ignite with a good solid dent in the primer). I ended up increasing the hammer spring strength and increasing the firing pin protrusion and now it fires all of the ammo consistently.

Can I get some details of this ammo please? where can it be obtained?I just got an sk and would like to not have to use corrosive ammo.
Thanks

No idea why this is in the MBR sub forum, should be Red Rifles or MilSurp - nothing that fires x39 is, was, or ever will be, an MBR...

But other than that...

I have two Russian SKS's, and a Zastava M85 (not the American import one from CanAm, but the Euro import version, which has a beefier hammer spring and extractor), and all three of them eat up the DA hollow-points without any issue.

The SKS has been known to "slam-fire" whereby closing the bolt on a live round discharges the rifle. As with ANY firearm follow the core safety rules and no one gets hurt. It's also suggested to firmly hold the rifle in the safe direction when closing the bolt in case this does happen. Case in point, a fellow at a California range a few years back had an SKS slam fire that went full auto. The gun spun up and shot him in the face, killing him.
