Hey,

I've got 20 or so older plastic Canada shells I would like to keep in my flock but they look pretty faded and fake next to my newer decoys. Does this matter? If so, can I bennefit by spray paintng them in matte black/grey/white. Is the expensive decoy paint at Cabelas necessary or can I get CDN Tire paint?//

I just did up 10 scaup decoys yesterday. From what I've read on the internet, make sure you prime the decoys first with a primer thats good with plastic (Krylon Fusion is usually recommended). Do this because paint doesn't always stick well to the plastic shells and rubs off kinda easy. I then went to Micheals which is an arts and craft store and purchased acrylic paint which was on sale for 2/$1 and painted them up. Sealed with Krylon Matte finish protector. I think they turned out great considering I haven't painted anything since grade school.
