Reading an artical in "Combat Arms" they mention that the Cdn Forces has just adopted PGWDTI's .338 Lapua Magnum Tiberwolf MRSWS! Anyone else hear about this, and is in use yet?? Much lighter than the .50 rifles and has twice the range of the 7.62mm (.308).

Hmmm must be, I just found this link:

Nothing like being behind the times..... this was done in April 2005.

welcome to april 18, 2005

Well..... are they operational yet, as from all the photo's I've seen, they are still using the .50 cal. but I guess these are replacing the C3.

One other question, what would the price tag be for a civi version of the timberwolf?

Nice, makes the brits Accuracy International look like a plastic toy.I still prefer the Enfield Enforcer but on grounds of character and tradition not function.Canada needs a military industrial complex.

Is this rifle the same as the Timberwolve rifle being sold by the same company?

If so what does that rifle go for?

Thanks,
D

Also, I wonder if they're allowed to build and sell the <exact> same package on the civilian market (minus the can of course, or maybe with a fake/cosmetic can) or if they had to essentially sign a contract with the Govt indicating that civilian sales of this specific model were now verboten ...

Not that I could ever dream of being able to one day afford one of these things mind you, they look like they cost more than my house, and all the cars i've ever owned put together .... Several times over.

I think I read a post here last year that stateed that there was in fact no contract and tthat civillians could buy them.
The only trouble is the waiting period as the company is very busy!
