Anyone watch the Canada In The Rough - Varmint Hunt this morning? I just caught part of it, thought it wasn't bad, what calibre was he using, .22-250? Also, what brand & model of caller was being used? Last but not least, what were your thoughts on the show? Especially interested in what some of the more avid Varmint hunters have to say as I'm just starting to get my 'feet wet' at the game.

I watched it this morning , I liked the end where they were chatting and the one guy say's there's one so the guy grabs his rifle and nails it LOL!! "The End"

I saw the show previously and if my memory is correct, Thomas was shooting a Sako 223 and one of the other guys was using a 22-250, but I can't remember what kind of rifle.

we don't get the hog out here but have a load of coyotes. I thought they were fast at picking up the coucte after a shot. Lots of the time a second or third dog will appear even after a shot. It was interesting to see a coyote run after a hit. They did that mangy yote a favor. I shot one that had a mohawh down its back and that was about it. Hated to even pick it up. I through it on a burning pile. AJ

There are woodchucks in Alberta. You just don't see them living in pasture type settingd like in the east. I used to see a fair number on the north side of the highway between the town of Slave lake and High Prairie. A fair number were black ones.

I am in London Ontario so close to where he was hunting and I found it very helpful:) my dad and I have never hunted before but plan on trying it in a few weeks and we were thinking coyote or wood chuck, if any of you guys have any more advice as to equipment, or just tips I would be more than happy to hear it:) Thanks
