I have received an e-mail from Canada Post advising me that they are taking a break from negotiations with the union. This means that there is no agreement between the parties. If they go back on strike by the end of the month, we will have to explore our options again, like last time. It worked out not too bad, except that FedEx is a lot more expensive, and I have to provide individual quotes instead of a flat rate. Shipments from Europe may be impacted, and there may be delays. Please bear with me until this is settled.
Thanks,
Chris

“Canada Post is facing an existential crisis: it is effectively insolvent, or bankrupt. Without thoughtful, measured, staged, but immediate changes, its fiscal situation will continue to deteriorate,” veteran mediator William Kaplan wrote in his report delivered to the government Thursday.

Bye Bye CP

Yeah. That'll fix it! The private sector already fails to beat Canada Post prices but surely that'll change when private is the ONLY option right?
I could beat private companies too if I had the government subsidies that Canada Post has. Sell them off save the tax money and let them stand or fail on their own.
