An old friend gave me a canada scout .22lr revolver rifle. Can't seem to find any info online searching for these things.
Anyways it needs to go to a gunsmith and was just wondering if it was worth fixing or just leave it as a wall hanger?

Made by Herbert Schmidt of West Germany around the 1980's.

Seems like a fun little thing one went on auction in 2022 for $1750CAD in working condition.

Looks like the rifles were pretty rare but a gunsmith might have parts off a donor handgun.

At the end of the day it comes down to if you want to shoot it and cost to repair, a new SAA rough rider revolving carbine is only around $500, if its not a simple fix you might find yourself halfway to a new rifle by the time you get it repaired.

Never heard of it. Cool rifle. If it's worth fixing will depend on what the smith says it's gonna cost, if parts are even available. But I'd much rather spend $500 fixing that then buying a Rough Rider... and I have nothing against the Rough Rider...

The Heritage Rough Rider is very similar to the Herbert Schmidt small frame revolver. Close enough that I think the RR is copied/patterned from the H-S, and close enough I've used parts from the RR to repair the H-S small frames.
