Hey people I'm looking for our equivalent of Brownell's here in Canada!
All of their chemicals make it difficult for us get. I want one stop shopping!
I want to able to call for what I need without the import-export permit and all the:bsFlag:that goes with it, is there any land of milk, and honey here:confused:   Or at the very least a place where I can find a drill-tap kit in Québec:confused:

If there isn't enough volume to make retailing item worthwhile, retailers won't stock items. Have you tried industrial supply houses, or are taps you want not standard industrial sizes? A set of number drills is available at any industrial supply houses.

Industrial hardware suppliers, like KBC Tools, will have the drills and taps you need. There was a company in Winnipeg offering gunsmithing supplies, but I suspect that the Cdn. market isn't big enough to support offering a full product line like Brownells. Ordering from Brownells is easy, they ship promptly. As far as customer service goes, a number of other businesses could take lessons from Brownells.

just do what i do when i need something from brownells i go see ym local smith have him order it in for me , i pay a little extra for his time and hassle but it gives him business and support and i get what i need cant go wrong there

HVH ENTERPRISES in Winnipeg has a very good selection of Gunsmithing supplies! Give him a call and he will send you a cataloge.

The policies about transborder shipment of chemicals are usually set by Dangerouds Goods legislation, on our side of the border. The problem lies in being able to guarantee a safe diposal route for some very nasty chemicals.

A lot of the stuff that we used twenty years ago has been taken off the market, and for good reason. I have worked in the chemical/oil industry for over thirty years; I saw a lot of the older guys wither away with rare, hard to diagnose 'syndromes" and "disorders" over the years. I hope the younger guys starting out in the business today have a closer to normal life expectancy than I!
