Years ago, I bought a Dan Wesson model 15 .22 with a 8" barrel - it is a beautiful, well made gun. However, I found the 8" barrel to be a bit long for my taste, but as the user interchangeable barrel system is nothing short of genius, I figured it would be easy to refit it for a shorter barrel. 6" barrels and shrouds were available, but nothing caught my eye more than the 4" prohibited variety. To beat the barrel length restriction, I'd always dreamed of having a custom made 4.2" Barrel - which finally came to fruition last week, when a small parcel arrived at my door. Thanks to EWK Arms and Prophet River, My Monson now sports a custom EWK Arms VH series 111mm barrel - and I'm VERY impressed. What do you guys think?

There was a prohibited one on the ee that I was hoping to buy and do this with, but I couldn't find anyone with a 12-6 that would help me out. I had also heard of backing out the barrel to get it reregistered as restricted. Looks very nice.

It was $179 us for the barrel and shroud, plus shipping and import fees. Less than 300 to my door. This would be the easiest revolver ever to have reclassified as restricted - but I guess once that was accomplished, the prohibited barrel would become a prohibited device, and would have to be destroyed immediately... A one way conversion, and a shame.

That is Very Nice indeed! However my own 8inch DW will stay that way. Only because it has close company with a 6inch Anaconda and a 5inch 629.

PS: BTW, your 4.3inch DW reminds me very much of Jim Cirillo's 4inch DW in 41 Magnum that he had specifically for police work.

Very, very nice! :dancingbanana:

I had hoped that the 4" barrels were slightly more than 105mm, so I had a seller run a factory 4" barrel with a caliper. Exactly 4", and totally prohib :( not sure what the story was with yours...
