I just adopted 2 x 5 "pocket" green rubberized battle packs that I think are from the 60's. Each sealed "package holds 10 rounds 7.62 on stippers.
Each 5 pocket strip has a tie so you can of course tie them together or to whatever...

3 of the pouches have been opened

Is there any value to this item to anyone beyond ammo value?

That's excellent DA stamped Cdn ball ammo. Shot many rounds of it. I've even heard guys claim that it's match ammo. It shoots well, but it isn't.

The Diver's Weight Belts

Many years ago, while going through Nanton, Alberta, on my way to Calgary, I stopped at an Antique Store. You never know what you are going to find in these stores, and I had time to spare.

After looking around a bit, I happened to see some of these bandoliers in a box. There were six of them, or 360 rounds, all sealed. I asked the guy "What do you want for these?" and he said, "Oh, those Divers Weight Belts? How about three bucks each?"

Of course I bought them.

We actually called those things "bandoliers" in the CF.

you and EVERYBODY ELSE- we had them stateside too, but they were cloth, and not rubberized-but ours were refillable , and had the "spoon " for filling the mag- i don't think these do

When you open these, they're going to be verdigis. Most of them were. That is the ammo will be green and mouldy. If you try to get big money for them from anyone but me and Purple and Buffdog(and we won't pay big) you're going to get a scream when they open them to use. It doesn't effect the performance just cosmetic. It's good ammo but remember it's much older than most of the posters here. Just shoot it.

I bought two unopened cases of this stuff from a board member about 10 years ago, 1964 issue. None of the brass was green, dull but not tarnished. There is a small box board/paper piece in each pouch that is impregnated with some sort of oil (supposedly peanut) that keeps it from tarnishing. Though apparently, sometimes this didn't work judging from the above post.

I shot all of it and it was great stuff, still have all the brass too. The only problem I had with both cases was one pierced primer. Can't give you a current price estimate due to how long ago I bought it, which at the time was about .50-.60 per round.

Back in the late 60s I recall all of the ammo I saw in these bandoliers had verdigris. Understand that was why this pack was discontinued.

Hahahaha...good one!

Actually, Ole BUFFDOG has long fired any of this stuff, and the late 50s and 60s ammo I had too. I am starting on my 5 cans of 1975 and 1976 IVI ammo, and I still have two cans of Radway Green Sniper Grade left after that. As I am now 70 years old, and have lots of other calibres to play with, it will probably last me for some time.
