Just a quick update, we have fired 4 matches so far this year, the last had both a rifle and pistol component. We got a little wet during the rifle portion of the match but that was nothing compared to the soaking we received during the pistol shoot. Thanks to the 30 some competitors that braved the weather and shot the match.

Out next match will be an NRA type shoot at both 200m and 300m. This will be an annual match each July and it will be called the Joe Leger match is honour of one of our shooters that passed away a year or so ago. He always told me this was his favorite type of match so it seems appropriate.

We encourage the use of Iron Sights for this match. We will allow sighters for the upcoming match on Sunday the 8th of July. If you want to shoot both of the matches you will need 80 rounds. Please see course of fire above.

Thanks Roddy, much appreciate your support. The match we fired today was as follows:

Course of Fire for NRA 500m Match
200m Slow, Standing 10 rounds 1 min/shot
200m Rapid, Sitting from Standing 10 rounds 60 sec
300m Rapid, Prone from Standing 10 rounds 70 sec
500m Slow, Prone 10 rounds 1 min/shot

Today was a great success with some very good scores turned in. High score for optics (Up to 4 power) was 152 and for iron sights was 126.
This format will be the one we use for our annual July "Joe Leger" match named after one of our shooters who tragically passed away and was one of the people who supported our Service Rifle Matches from the very beginning at the Edmonton Fish and Game range that was located North West Of St. Albert.
