I would like to find an authentic Canadian-marked Lee-Enfield No. 1 Mk. III (full wood) to go with my Long Branch No. 4. Does anyone have any information on how expensive and scarce such a rifle would be? I haven't seen any in Edmonton for some time.

THe No1 was never manufactured in Canada, the rifles that came into our posession sometimes had the C-broadarrow stamp.

You have to be careful, as there are stamps in circulation that are being used to make or "Canadianize" No 1's and some Winchesters (PCMR).

Buy the rifle not the story.

If you find a legitimate one, you'll usually see Canadian acceptance markings on the knoxform and receiver.

Here's a pic from one of ~Angel~'s Canadian SMLE's...

I've been looking for one as well - seen just about every SMLE there is in these parts, except a Canadian issue .
I got the bayo , now I have to have the rifle to go with it !
The hunt continues...

They do exist.

I picked one up, full wood, C-Arrow on reciever, barrel and stock. Only down side was the bolt. It was stored in a rag separate from the gun and was rusted to crap.

I won't mention I got it for $40.

Shoots really good though. :)

Heres my Canadian 1917 No.1 Mk 111, Enfield make.

Hi Geoff,
Yes thats the rifle you sold me!
(Your pics too )

I couldn't remember if it was broad arrow marked or not - she has been neglected by being tucked away in the back of the safe for some time :(

Your right - a very nice rifle, I am proud to be its current caretaker
