So who's making parts? Found a need for a brake and recoil lug and I'm sure a few are making these that don't advertise. ATR making any brakes, maybe lugs to go with their new action? I see Near and Dlask make brakes, anyone else?

Would be nice to buy more CDN custom parts. What else is made in Canada?

Yes we are making brakes. I came up with a 3 gill design that seems to work extremely well on the boomers I so love.
Will post better photos asap
Bolt knobs are now being made, should be finished 1st run next week.
Recoil lugs are soon as actions are getting closer by the day.

Kyle Precision is buildng a real nice picatinny rail now as well.

So How much more longer for the Action Rick, it is going to be another year, like I predicted earlier!, at lease we still can purchase rem700sps and use the action.

Hay, Like I said, if you make one that work and grind out all the bug, I will buy it, I have no problem with buying action from you, as long as it work and shoot good I will pay!

Gunboy

How about both of you piss off. The guy asked a question about gun parts, specifically a brake and recoil lug while mentioning ATRS. ATRS answered in regards to what they have and directed him to another company in regards to some other parts.
Leave it alone already. If it takes ATRS a year for their action to come out, then gunboy you can do your little dance of joy. If I were rick I wouldn't sell you a piece of brass none the less an action. Holy crap, talk about people wanting someone to fail.

It will be great when your actions are out and the Canadian content can go up as well. Not trying to pick on you, honest. Just the way things are.

I was just teasing you but the smilies weren't working for me. I don't think there are really that many people who want to see Canadian firearms businesses stumble or fail, and I know that you aren't in that category anyways.

There is a CNC machinist/shooter that has set up shop in Sorrento BC, He is producing very high quality muzzle brakes, barrel blocks and even some scope bases for incredibly cheap prices. I am trying to convince him to get on CGN.

Also, Henry Remple in Alberta makes what I feel is the finest F-Class bipod in the world. I was surprised to see it used by so many US shooters that have come up here to shoot in matches.

I think you could have a 85% Canadian made rifle:
- ATRS for barrel & brake (eventually action)
- Robertson Composites for your stock
- NEAR Mrg. for your scope mount (base & rings)

And voilà! Only the scope & bipod would have to be outsourced... But if you get a Parker Hale bipod, at least it'll be within the Commonwealth :D

Hey, Ian: do you make only benchrest-style stocks, or do you make something a little more practical/rugged? I.e. with adjustable cheek-piece, bipod mount, Anschutz rail, textured/grippy finish (vs. smooth & shiny), vertical grip, etc... ?

That's 80% CGN sponsor to boot! About as good as it will get as the itty pieces will still come from the States (can't be much money in making fire controls and bottom metal for the Canadian market only).

Wildcat Composites (is that their name?) make hunting stocks that Corlane use on their rifles if you wanted a more traditional profiled synthetic stock.

I have a 98% Candian content rifle PGWDTI action, McClenen(sp) barrel Robertson stock. Rifle Basix trigger though. Bases and rings I built myself. S&B scope.

At the moment, there isn't really a big market for gun part in Canada, meaning most of the part you got from Europe or state still getting here, weather that will change is the future is a big question, also if the oil price ever slide, many of this CNC manufacture will step up to make what needed, after all these CNC machine need to be running to pay the bill, I have talk to several CNC place in Edmonton, and there comment was that doing such part doesn't pay the bill, meaning the oil company pay more, so the machine are running for that purpose. another reason is that doing Action, Muzzle break does require specialize equipment set up.

I think trigger & scope make up somewhat more than 1% or a rifle ;)

How'd you make your own base/rings?? You have your own milling equipment?
