Connaught might be one of the best ranges in the World 2600+ acres in the middle of Ottawa. lots of things to see and do in Ottawa
Hope some Eastern & Western shooters can make it.There is 76 targets on main range so there,s room for a big turnout to shoot.
Here is last years National champion in F/O and runner-up at the Eastern F class Championships.
Leo D Amour he is in his 80s you would know it, great shape and he can shoot.

think you might make it to Nationals in Aug ??

Aug 6 to Aug 15 Camp Perry -NRA High Power and Long Range Matches, (don't let Bruce C. celebrate Team Canada F Class Victory too hard),drive all night to Hottawa
and start shooting Aug 16-18.
239 rounds for CFNC ...how many rounds for Perry???Better start prepping more brass...
?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
This is the NEW format for Canadian F Class shooters who wanted their own Championship separated out from the CFRC.
The DCRA listened to the input of F Class shooters who wanted a shorter format than the CFRC and HERE IT IS!!!
Travel distance is still the same, but time and match fees have been reduced to encourage greater participation from MORE F Class minded shooters.
I encourage ALL to seriously consider supporting these changes by attending Connaught Ranges this August for The Canadian F Class National Championships.
Remember room and board at the barracks substantially reduces the overall cost as well.
Hope to see you there.

Hey Gord
If you guys leave right after winning The America,s at Camp Perry just head east to Hwy 90 NY state to Hwy 81 north to 401 & 416 to Ottawa 9 hrs or so
I will have three or four presses ready and lots of hands ready to help prep brass etc. to shoot Nationals. I know Terry loves cold ones we will have some on Ice. Don,t forget to pack primers, bullets & powder
Gord you are right the DCRA has stepped-up to plate and put this F-Class shoot into Nationals so our western & eastern shooters could shoot the Nationals with-out the great expenses & grind of shooting 8 days like normal.
We need help to make it a success guys,
If we could get you F class shooters Like. Gunter B,Henry Remple,Lyle G, Terry C. Brian M, Mic M, and the F classers from Sask & Manitoba and the great shooters from Quebec and all the Eastern Provinces, where the F/TR is really growing.

Paul R,

Hmmmm - I'll be checking my calendar this weekend. At this point I can't see why I wouldn't be able to make it.

I'll be coming in w/o any shooting under my belt all summer- so it'll be for enjoyment only, w/ no expectations. Fine weather and cold beer help make defeat easier to take.

Really would have been nice to know about this a few months ago.. 14 matches already booked for this season, with one already past. It's going to be tough to make room for one more at this time. Good luck with the match, and i hope it is well attended.
Cheers to all!!

Is there anybody who will attend the America's Match at camp Perry who make plan to make it to the NEW F-class Nationals???

I would have like it very much to be there, but it is a rough schedule to attend both!!!

Kenny

How many are staying to shoot the whole CFRC on top of the Canadian F Class Championship? Will there still be the CFRC Grand Agg and the Gov Gen's. or will that be settled during the F Class Championship?

Now if you are shooting the America Cup at Perry, then heading to Connaught for the F Class Championship then staying to shoot the whole CFRC, that is a lot of shooting.

Holidays from work booked. Accomodations arranged. Just need to arrange transport and reloading. Will just be able to take in the F class event.

I'm tempted to leave Perry asap on the 15th, and drive like hell. The morning of the 16th is sort of optional- no price break, but the main prizes are avilible to those who don't shoot the short ranges. Probably live to regret it, but I'll try most things once. Would be easier with two- want to give it a go, Kenny?

I know it's a longshot ,but someone said it's only 10hrs from Perry to Ottawa.
Know I couldn't do it solo, but if someone at Perry wants to give it a try...let me know.
Couple of things to note:
You will need to have CFNC ammo loaded and with you at Perry (no reload time)
Would need to make arrangements at Ottawa for late checkin at barracks.
Will need one hellava LOUD alarm clock to not sleep in......
I sure would hate to miss the FIRST CFNC segregated matches in history!!!!
For ALL F minded shooters considering attending.
1.it's 3 days of strictly F Class
2.Match fees have been reduced accordingly
3.The barracks help save lots of expense.
4.YOU will be part of a Historical Event!!!A FIRST in the Century plus History Of the DCRA!!!
5.Win,place or show ,you'll have had the chance to compete in 3 days on a WORLD Class
range and that experience alone is worth the price of admission.
6.You get to rub elbows and share stories of like minded individuals and have some fun.

I'm leaving from K/W area and could use a "second" as it seems my traveling buddy will be attending Perry with his spouse.I would like to get to Perry a wee bit ahead matches
to rest up for a day. It's the trip to Ottawa which will be a challenge.......

I'm still waititng to hear if I can do Perry or not. Ottawa is pretty much assured, as the family is booked to visit the grandparents, so I'd likely from them in Ottawa on the 8th, make the run down to Perry on the 9th. The mad dash from OH to Connaught would be tough, but with 2-4 guys spelling off on the driving, I think it would be pretty doable. Does anybody have a round count for Perry?

The decision to have the CFNC so close to the America Match was not an easy one to make. Unfortunately, the scheduled dates were about the only ones availible, with the "optional" short range booked first so there was a possability, however slight, that a hardy few could attempt to do both.

Matt,With ALL the gear we carry plus the fact that most will have to pack for both matches,I don't imagine 3 or 4 would fit together in 1 ride unless someone owns 1 of those LARGE CARGO vans.
I was informed about a 10 hour drive, so if we get out of Perry at 5pm (hopefully earlier if you just grab your trophy and run instead of making your 2 hour speeches :)) ,we should be able to hit Connaught by 3 am???
I'm willing to try and at worst I can sleep the 1st day away and shoot 2nd and 3rd.Really want to be part of this DCRA FCNC first (part of history)
Bruce has roundcount for Perry.I had it written down on a paper on my desk......
forget about even tryin to find it.My thoughts are...LOAD EM ALL.Too many is better than too few.
Hope to see you at The Eastern Regionals.
Gord O

I have a feeling we could pull off 2-3 in the right vehicle. Another thing to think about- a 4'x8' uhaul is $135 picked up in Ottawa on Aug 8, and dropped off on the 17th. That way four people could be comfortable in a vehicle, and all the gear would happily follow along behind...
