The Canadian Open Skeet Championships will take place at the Oshawa Skeet and Gun Club starting Friday June 20th with Doubles.

!2ga and 20ga will be shot Saturday June 21st.

28ga and .410. will be shot Sunday June 22nd.

The shoot is nearly full, but if you are interested in taking part, fire off an email ASAP to slskeet@sympatico.ca today (Thursday), or stop by the club to register in person starting tomorrow (Friday).

Best of luck to all competitors!

Brad.

Based on hearsay (due to the fact it is not possible for me to attend this year :( ), and subject to correction;

John Kapron won the doubles event with the lone 100x100. John has been on fire this year and looks to be a strong contender for the HOA. Bill Zager was runner-up with a 99.

The 12ga and 20ga are shot today. Conditions in Port Perry and Oshawa are reported to be low to moderate winds.......

The Canadian Skeet Shooting Hall of Fame will induct a new member at the Oshawa club tonight. The Canadian Hall of Fame book will be on display throughout the weekend for those who are interested in reading up some history of Skeet in Canada.

More to come as it becomes available.... results are all subject to correction.

In my time there (tournaments only).... I've seen perhaps 1 or 2 days which you would consider calm. I don't imagine that today would qualify as one of those days.

The report in from the 12ga is that there were 6 100x100s, and a bunch of 99s.

Brad.

THe 12ga and 20ga winners were John Kapron and Rick Lawry (I think respectively but that could be switched around).

Edit: ****** Rick and John are not both 200x200, seems I got some misinformation reported back. *****

Rick is the only person that has shot a 4x4 in Canada.

The hard work has yet to come though with the 28ga and .410 today.

The forecast shows cool and calm...

A big congratulations to OSSA Past President Chuck Cresswell who was inducted to the Canadian Skeet Shooting Hall of Fame last night.

Last report this afternoon had thunderstorms rolling through the area. This resulted in a delay. It sounds like a tight race HOA wise with 6-8 shooters within striking distance headed into the .410

In the end, it was the John Kapron Show. John won the 28ga and .410 with 100s and in the process took the HOA and HAA events.

Congratulations to East Coast shooter Brian Blades who had his first 100x100 in the .410.

I'll try to get a copy of the full results and get them posted.

Brad.

John finished at 398x400 and 498x500 while winning;
Doubles, 12ga, 28ga, .410, HAA and HOA.

I had originally heard that he ran the 20ga, but that turned out to not be accurate. Even so it was an amazing run.

Son of a gun is one helluva shooter.

And he even stands on the wrong side of the gun!!!!!! LOL

Great shooting John if you read this. Congrats.

I would like to say thank you to all the refs and those involved in oranizing and running the shoot I thought it was very well done. I would also like to thank whoever is in charge of the rain at Oshawa for turning off the taps just before I shot both days.
