I am seriously considering purchasing a Colt revolver, and after much research,I am finding out that these guns do occasionally require maintenance work that require an expert to perform.Who in Canada is qualified to do maintenance and repairs on high end Colt revolvers? How about work on S&W revolvers?

I don't know who is certified to work on these things, but Barry Jensen at Bits of Pieces in Delta, BC, is about as fine a gunsmith as I've seen.

I have a few Colt revolvers(Pythons and a Diamondback).I really enjoy shooting them, but realise that if anything broke, you are on youre own. There are no "qualified" revolversmiths in Canada for Colts.Colt revolvers are notoriously difficult to work on,and parts are becoming more and more scarce.

For this reason,if you want to get a beautiful example of old world craftmanship and only shoot it occasionally, then get a Colt.If you want a gun to shoot a lot,get a Smith or Ruger.Parts are plentiful, and there are a few good gunsmiths who know what they are doing with them,I can recommend Murray Charlton(at least out west here)

Colt revolver certified armourers are more rare than S+W armourers in Kanada.
Contact Colt to find out who is available.

By the way - I have a Colt Heavy Barrel Officers model that has been shooting since 1951 with no shop maintenance at all.
Still my most accurate handgun. :)
