Did a quick search but couldn't find much info on Canadian marked SMLEs
I have a 1916 3* Enfield which is all matching (forsestock, rear sight, receiver, nose cap) less the bolt. The knox and barrel are both stamped with a small C Broad arrow. The receiver still retains GR proof.
Barrel is also marked 42 and has a B (which may be the LB mark for Longbranch?)
The butt disc is filled in very well and the butt has an "L" stamped in it which I assume refers to the butt size vice Longbranch. Overall the wood is like new and bears inspector marks and broad arrow. The mag has a strange cut out on its left side and appears armourer modified as well.
I assume that the 42 refers to a rebarrel and likely refurb in WW2 by LB?
Anyone know much more about these SMLEs?
Thanks
Edit - I just found a good bit on the Milsurps site talking about these.
