Hi guys, not sure if this has been posted here before but I'm hoping to get a big timber wolf this winter and I want to get it mounted like the wolves on this website. http://www.urbannaturetaxidermy.com

It turns out she is unable to export anything to canada or import a pelt from here. So I was wondering if anyone this side of the border does this. ?

Both strange and impressive. Not for me but I'm forced to appreciate the work involved, pretty odd though never considered cuddling trophies!

If you're after excellent and highly realistic mounts in a scene (wolf on a log that juts out from your wall, etc) look up North Velt Taxidermy, High Level, Alberta. I just saw some wolf work he did and it's very impressive.
 
First, actually getting a big wolf, it's far harder than most figure. Boddington describes a big Timberwolf as the most challenging trophy in North America. It seems this woman is the only one doing this, so not likely you'll find anything here, most taxidermists will consider it a pretty strange concept.
 
I've seen a monster three times within about the same 10km of highway on my way to work over the last year. I'm going to try my best at getting him. If not, no big deal. I'm just trying to pre plan incase I do.
 
Thanks ardent, there's no "hunt" in shooting across a highway. We have so many wolves around here now the deer are starting to take residence in town.
 
I can see that if you had one of those posing in just the right way, laying on the floor, that people would do a double and triple take thinking it is real. I'm still trying to figure out if I like it or not. Definitely more different than what I've ever seen.
 
I feel like it would add a whole new dynamic to a mount. Being able to reposition it or just feel lit. It would be great to get a coyote and bear as well. Hopefully enough people see this thread and she starts taking on Canadians. Or, perhaps a taxidermist will see this and maybe it will inspire them to do the same.

She's able to, she just chooses not to, due to paperwork,etc.

I wonder how these would hold up in an OCD household. After constant repositioning, would the mount go limp after a while? :D

Definitely weird, hence the picture of the folks from that "Oddities" show.
 
Dislike... but if you harvest a trophy, it is yours to do as you please and regardless of personal tastes, the fact that you pay respect is important.... this topic rings true for me.... have taken 5 to date... none "worthy" of a mount... but i have all of the hides.... they are a difficult hunt for sure.....
