What make? If they're Henrys, you can order full buttstocks right from Henry, no problem. I did that for my Mare's Leg. The stocks from the Big Boy are the same, and they look great. If a Rossi, I've looked and can't find any in Canada. Boyd's in the States will ship, but they don't look quite right to me (too "modern" looking; plastic buttplate; color won't match exactly, etc). Not sure about other brands.

***edit*** I also ordered a "mostly completed" stock from a place in the states (sorry, don't remember the company... "Precision" something, maybe) that you're supposed to finish to fit. Turns out I don't have the woodworking skills, or the patience, to finish it. I bought the proper steel carbine buttplate for it, too. I'd sell that to you if you want to take a stab at doing it yourself - it would take some work, and I've "bubba'ed" it up a bit already. :d

1892 clone Im looking to stock. They are Rossis which are cloneish and can often use colt parts

Henrys arent 1892 guns.

True. Just tryin' to help. I guess I was confused when I read "Mare's Legs" which is what Henry calls their short stock lever model. Rossi model is a "Ranch Hand". Anyway, looks like you've got the info I posted and a little more clarification now. Let me know if you want the stock.

Your right, my mistake....Rossi ranchhands

My understanding and observation is that they are a 92 clone
Hoping to source stocks that dont require a great deal of inletting or fitting....being a true 92 clone should make that possible??

Thanks for the info so far fellas...appreciated

You're right, they are 92's, just shorter. And the Henrys are not the same pattern. Sorry, l didn't mean to come across so thin-skinned. I've wanted a full stock for my Ranch hand for a long time, and can't find a good fit anywhere either. Let me know if you find a source for them. Good luck!

The 1892 and 1894 butt stocks for Winchesters are 100 percent interchangeable. They are identical no doubt for ease of manufacture. The 94 was changed around the upper tang in the 1950's slightly but pre WW2 stocks are the same.
