Hi guys and gals,

I have a nice Model 41 S&W that needs a new magazine disconnector spring.
Problem; I tried Brownells and ordered a few of these 3.99 springs, but no shipping of these dangerous goods to Canada.
Normally I'd order them delivered to the US and swing by on my next trip down under, but I'd rather find a Canadian source and avoid the hassle.
It's a nice pistol, but I'm having troubles getting it to shoot with the magazine disconnector either in our out of the pistol without that darn spring.

Help!

Good to know. I need a small part for one of my Model 41 mags. Brownells can't ship fit or the same reason as the OP mentioned. Too dangerous, lol.

I got a bolt pin for my Model 41 from Wortner Gun Works, Chatham, Ontario. 613-352-0924. Mind you this was back in 2012. They were
Smith&Wesson parts dealer then. Check with them, they may still be parts suppliers.

Thanks for all the feedback. I've sent out a few feelers to William Arms, Wortner Gun Works, and MDC.
Finding out that Wolverine Supplies is one of their warranty stations, I'm trying them too. (I know, should have Googled that)

I'll tell y'all what comes of this.

After two weeks, I have yet to receive an answer from any of the retailers that I contacted for a replacement mag disconnector spring.
This includes the authorized Smith and Wesson warranty service provider in Canada; Wolverine Supplies. No answer to 2 FAX messages or emails. I might even consider snail mail if I thought they might bother to answer.

Since the border will soon be open to quick cross border trips, it looks like that $4 spring will cost me a few hundred kilometers of gas and my time picking it up from my US mail drop. Brownells seems to be the only outfit that has the part, and that WILL ANSWER ME!

I can't say if S&W warranty service is any good, since I see no example of it in Canada.

I checked with Numrich and they are out of the parts, which were used to begin with. The problem (even if they had them) is the inability to ship these dangerous springs across the border. Hence the driving down to the US to pick them up.

FWIW even when Murray Charlton on the Island was the repair/warranty depot for S&W in Canada S&W screwed him around waiting for parts. They don't seem to care about Canada IMHO.
One shooting buddy waited 6 months for a part for his 460 revolver, nothing Murray could do.... his comment at the time was it was pretty typical of S&W.

When I called the shop to find a part for my 686 they said good luck, how long can you wait. I was able to dig through my LGS S&W parts drawer and found what I needed.
