Canadian Spec Barrels

I have a question that I can not seem to track down an answer to. For handguns that the rest of the world gets with barrels that are too short to meet Canadian Restricted Firearm criteria (longer than 105mm) are the longer "Canadian Spec" barrels made by the manufacturer or are they third party barrels? I am wondering about the Sig P229 for instance. Sigs have a reputation for being accurate, but do they use a Sig or a third party barrel in the P229?

It varies from maker and importer to maker and importer. G19's for example have come into the country with Storm Lake, IGB, Fire Dragon and factory Glock barrels, Sigs have had Sig and at one point Bar Sto barrels. If you're buying a P229 through a dealer that deals with MD Charlton (importer) I believe you'll get a factory barrel, but to be sure, you could ask MD Charlton on their forum here.

A P226 barrel won't function in a P229; the chamber end/blocky part has different dimensions.
