Since CGN is Canadian wide I was wondering if anyone is going to attend the Canadian Trap Shooting Championships in Vancouver this year. Now although it says Canadian, I believe it is a PITA event so that would mean Manitoba west or anyone who wants to compete. It is being held June 28th to July 2nd. I hope to go and give it a try but I won't know for sure until a little closer to the date. I would suspect that there is some big money to be won if you are shooting well ;) :D

Well I did not make it to this one however there were about 12 people from ONT, lots from Alberta and BC. One fella from my club lost the Canadian Singles championship in a shoot-off so he came runner up. Another fella from my club won the doubles. A BC guy won the big handicap as well. Vancouver can be hard to shoot at sometimes so I was told that the guys from my club either did well or really poorly, no inbetween. I wish I had gone it sounded like a ton of fun and it won't come back this way for 4 years.

Talk about HOT, sheesh, I thought I was going to melt down while at the shoot this past weekend. My scores sure suffered in the afternoons, compared to the cooler mornings. I still managed to win the Chamionship preliminary singles event for D class, on friday. :D Tied the singles 200 bird event on Saturday, but lost in a shootout, for the PITA Champion trophy, but still won the Canadian Championship D class singles Open trophy. That made my day!

My doubles score was poor, and melted down in the handicap event Sunday, so no big money in that event. One of the shooters bought in the Calcutta, ended up paying a little bit, so not all was lost.:)

I thought I might have gotten the HOA class Pita pin for the event, but they didn't have any presentations for them, so ??

I #####ed in all the earlier shoots this year about the rain, that always seemed to accompany them, but it would have been almost preferable to the heat.

By the way, the shoot was a PITA shoot primarily, but as it was the national "Canadian Trap Championships", many ATA shooters participated, and could win ATA trophys. Some cross registered so they could be eligible for one or the other. Almost all the shooters that came from Alberta eastward, were ATA shooters.

I thought the Vancouver Gun Club did an excellent job of hosting the shoot, and all of the club members, president, and directors should be complimented.
