Hello gentlemen. Who here has experience with the 870 folding stock from CanadaAmmo?
https://www.canadaammo.com/product/detail/81/grizzly-remington-870-folding-stock/

I basically want to know if it's sturdy or not. I'm not actually going to put it on an 870, but I'm making a frankenstock with an M305 stock. I've done stocks like this with an ATI collapsible stock, but I want to make a folder. Thanks for any information.

Gotta love folks who contribute so thoughtfully to the forum.

Absolutely ZERO substance to the comment, no specific reference to personal experience, nothing.

Jay
P.S. I am not a fan of the collapsing/folding stocks on a shotgun. Shooting a pistol grip shotgun is painful with buckshot or slugs. The collapsing AR15 type stocks put all that recoil onto the pin that holds the stock in one of the 4 or 6 positions... IMHO, it's where it will fail eventually... And, in a panic, you better be able to pic that shotgun up FAST to deal with a bear etc., so I would not want to mess around with adjusting the lop or unfolding a stock...
P.P.S. However, if you are using the gun with heavy kit on or a heavy winter coat, the folding or collapsing stock may be what you are looking for? You didn't say in your original post.

My 5 cents...

It's actually quite robust. It's certainly not garbage as mine locked up tight and seemed invincible. That said, I was happy to get rid of mine as it offered no recoil absorption and I found the LOP a little too short for me.

It's actually quite solid and locks up tight. I just got rid of the one that came with my Grizzly MAG because I prefer an adjustable feature over a folding one...so I installed a Mesa Tactical LEO stock. Besides function, I didn't really care for the looks of the DA folding stock.

Okay sounds acceptable. I'll give it a shot.

Jay, what are you going on about? I already have a bear defence shotgun. It has a regular stock on it, too. This project is for leisure purposes. My personal goal of creating a working M14 stock not over $200 that fits my personal preferences. If I get this stock, it'll be less than $100. Total price.

^ Post pics, sounds like a cool project! I didn't mean to 'go off'... Just dislike comments that don't contribute & in some cases, detract from the forum.

Cheers
Jay

I'd say it is the same stock that was on the Norinco YL12 Ithaca clone, but the spacer is for an 870 rather than an Ithaca.

Pretty good stock in my recollection, if it's the same item.

Interesting. I dont mean to take this off topic, but I think that stock would look pretty dam good on my CZ 858. I wounder how hard, or if its even possible to make it work on there.
