I know this part is different from others;
the front sight is mounted on the gas cylinder lock

question is, is this one removable just like others?

I tried and it seems very very tight to be removed.... (of course with the gas cylinder plug off)
should I try harder ?

anybody else has similar problem?

One of mines was real hard i took leather for this one after scraping the FH with the rag and used the vise grip and rubber mallet to get this last one done... JP.

When taking the gas locking ring off you will have to remove the allen screw in the rear of the front sight as well as it will not rotate off with it installed.
So be careful rotating the gas lock so you don't move the front sight and loose your zero.
A flush mounted screw would be nice to have for this or if you don't use the front sight you could mount the sight backwards I guess.

Thanks to all....
I have managed to get it loose...it is so tight, which could be a good thing ...so that I do not need to shim it ... :)
