Match Cancelled

PR3G is pleased to announce our next 3 gun match, scheduled for June 25th, 2011, at the Peace Country Fish and Game Assoc. range, at Peace River, AB.

Match fee is $40, which includes a BBQ lunch. Cash prizes will be given to 1st and 2nd places, dependent on number of entries.

Registration opens at 9am, match and safety briefing at 9:45am, and shooting starts at 10am sharp.

If 5 or more shooters are using full power rifles, ie: .308, .30-06, 8mm, etc, a separate Heavy class will be opened. Otherwise, everyone shoots in the same class.

Match will consist of 4-6 stages, and a round count of 75 pistol, 100 rifle, and 40 shotgun. A long(ish) slug shot will be included so bring 5 or so slugs. Note, the stage and round count is provisional, firmer totals will be posted as they become available.

What do you need?

- a semi-automatic centerfire rifle capable of being loaded by stripper clips, en bloc clips or detachable magazines. Pistol caliber carbines are allowed, though they may make you cry when shooting out to 200m or more. Any magazine of legal capacity is acceptable. Your rifle may set up in any configuration with respect to optics or accessories. However, any and all mounted accessories must be on the rifle for the entire match. No adding a bipod for a long range stage then removing it for a short range stage, for example. You may remove any broken equipment that impedes the operation of your rifle, ie: failed red dot sight that blocks the use of the rifle's iron sights.

- a handgun and holster. Semi-autos are preferred, but a revolver with speed loaders or moon clips will work. Unless you're Jerry Miculek, you'll be at a large disadvantage with a revolver. Your holster must be secure enough to retain your handgun during any running, jumping or crawling that may be included. A loaded handgun falling out of a holster will result in instant disqualification. No red dot sights, compensators, or muzzle brakes permitted on your handgun. *No crossdraw, small-of-back, shoulder, or chest mounted holsters permitted.*

- a 12 or 20 gauge shotgun. Pump or semi recommended. No restrictions on configuration or accessories.

- gear to carry your spare ammo and magazines. You'll need to be able to carry at least 30-40 rounds of rifle ammo, two spare pistol mags, and 20 shotshells by some method.

Who can shoot?

Anyone. Whether it's your first 3 gun or your twentieth, you can participate. All shooters are expected to take safety, both theirs and that of the other shooters, seriously. If you're new, we can teach you what you need to know. If you want to participate, but don't have the gear or guns you need, please contact us, as loaner guns and gear are available on a first come, first served basis if you provide the factory-loaded ammo.

Adherence to the Four Rules of Firearms Safety is mandatory for all shooters. Careless gun handling will not be tolerated.

All shooters will be required to help out with target pasting, scoring and stage resetting. This ensures the match runs smoothly and efficiently.

If you have any questions, please post them in this thread, or pm me or albertacoyotecaller.

We'll see you on the 25th!
