Has anyone compared the feel of the TP9 frame to the newer "improved" Mete frame? I know there are grip texture enhancements, the trigger guard is now undercut, etc but the feature I'm most interested in is the redesigned beavertail on the Mete. I've read a number of reviews complaining about the beavertail on the TP9 causing pain and discomfort due to the way it hits the thumb joint. Sounds like this was the reason that the beavertail was thinned and cut higher on the Mete. Also curious if there's any difference in the width or length (front to back) of the grips.
For those who have tried both, was there a marked difference in comfort between the TP9 and Mete frame? Was the difference in the beavertail noticeable?
I ask because I already have a two tone Mete SFT on order, but am really wanting a long slide Canik now as well. If I could pick any, I'd choose a Rival SFX Dark Side or a Mete SFX in black, but I fell for the long slide Caniks about a week or so too late. Rival SFXs are all gone, but there are still Mete SFXs, and TP9 SFXs available. I could grab a Mete SFX and have the matching set, but there would be a good deal of redundancy there, with the extra 0.7" of barrel length being the only difference. Not keen on the idea of skipping a new improved model for an older one, but if the TP9 beavertail issue is overblown, at least that gun has some different options like the ability to use a full size red dot, different slide stop, etc.
What would you do? Grab the Mete SFX, or the TP9 SFX?
Thanks
