Before you get too forceful usually ends up - Oops! Crap! Now what?

Are you capable of fixing it? What is your aversion to a gunsmith fixing it?

My question...you say he fired "a" shot...was it the "First" shot also?

Not my rifle I’m not aposed to taking it to a smith but I do have the ability to fix it I’m just asking for advice as I’m not that familiar with that action and did get advice off of this thread.

Btw it worked I passed it on to my buddy and he did it in a second thanks guys

handload? clean chamber? recent imports sometimes have mismatched bolts, headspace checked?

Random post. Had a guys rifle lockup on the first shot after winter. His chamber had badly rusted over winter, the casing expanded into the rust. I ended up flooding the chamber via the muzzle with oil, it ran red as it leaked by the casing. Was able to tap it open after that.
Random, cuz you have a pretty eminent guy suggesting the pin. So I would agree with checking that first.

What "worked"? I am curious. I do not get to see many locked up rifles, so wondering how it got "fixed"???

He pulled the bolt guide back jiggled it and it opened looks like the pin is toast

Look at the removed casing for signs of over pressure. Have a gunsmith check the rifle before firing, checking headspace as well.
