I just received a Norinco M93 Sportsman, I'm making an attempt to disassemble it. I've disengaged the recoil spring, but cannot make the back strap release. I've pushed on the appropriate location but it only moves slightly. Any assistance /tips would be GREAT!

Its been a while but if I recall there is a small pin at the bottom of the grip frame. If you punch that out it should help taking the mainspring out of the gun. Otherwise like most norincos... apply more force.

Another tip would be NEVER TAKE IT DOWN FARTHER THAN TAKING THE BACKSTRAP OUT. Seriously, dont take the top pin out, domt take the trigger plate off. Stop. When the manual says stop. You stop.

It's a little tricky to remove the mag safety without taking the trigger plate off... Seems everyone's terrified of getting inside of these guns, they're pretty simple. Only issue I had was the one time the recoil spring popped off of the thing that holds it (I dunno what the actual term is) and I had a bit of a time getting it back in, but I've got big fingers, and it's a tiny part.

Edit: And I don't think the manual says stop anywhere, it's probably something like "Do not make go more than you do at this."

haha :d

it says,

"No further disassembly is required for routine cleaning. To reassemble reverse the above procedure, noting that: etc etc..."

I have had customers bring these back in a box in pieces so yeah, they aren't impossible to re-assemble they just aint fun.
